Announcing the End of an Era for a Man of Many Icon
Today, we announce the departure of our Editor-in-Chief, Nick Hall, marking the end of an incredible chapter that has spanned almost six years. While it’s always hard to farewell a colleague of Nick’s calibre, we’re grateful for the time we’ve worked together and excited for what’s ahead for him.
Nick has played a central role in shaping Man of Many, helping to define our brand and tone of voice. It was under his leadership that Man of Many transitioned from a promising digital publisher to an undisputed industry leader, whilst navigating some challenging industry disruptions along the way. With that in mind, we welcome him as the inaugural member of the Man of Many Hall of Fame.
A Lasting Legacy of Growth, Quality Content and Standards
Before joining Man of Many, Nick was the lead reporter and features writer for Inside Franchise Business. When Nick joined our small team of four in March 2020, the world was on the precipice of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a time of extreme uncertainty, but it didn’t stop Nick from diving straight into the role of our new Editor-in-Chief, taking on significant responsibilities from day one.
Just a week later, the world went into lockdown, and Nick had to tackle starting a new job, working from home, building our website and editorial vision. It was during these stressful times that Nick stepped up to the forefront, approaching every challenge with positivity and rigour. His impact was felt immediately, and under his new editorial strategy, we saw explosive growth with over 350% growth in our monthly page views.
With Nick behind the wheel, the industry could not ignore our influence and market penetration. His editorial leadership helped us secure wins for Mumbrella Publish ‘Brand of the Year’ and ‘Consumer Publication of the Year’ in 2021, as well as multiple ‘Website of the Year’ titles in 2020, 2023, 2024, and 2025. Our reputation in lifestyle publishing has remained prominent, with Nick playing a key role in that progress.

The Architect of Our Editorial Future
Putting metrics and awards aside, Nick’s most important contribution was envisioning our editorial focus. We quickly expanded from short-form consumer product reviews to more in-depth, long-form features and editorial content. Along the way, he strengthened our ‘premium but approachable’ editorial ethos and helped formalise clear guidelines around what we did and didn’t cover.
One of his crowning achievements was the conception and execution of our Quarterly Digital Editions. This project was a deliberate strategic pivot, designed to elevate the publication beyond the fast-paced rhythm of daily content and into the prestigious realm of premium, long-form, “digital-first” narrative experiences. It was also an opportunity to apply an innovative approach to our core product and reaffirm our commitment to the inspiring, engaging content that defines our brand.
Featuring A-list talent from Oscar Piastri and Alexandra Daddario to G Flip and Pat Cummins, the series explored themes of reinvention, creation, trailblazing, and disruption. The Digital Editions were more than just collections of articles; they represented a significant step in elevating the brand, helping to raise Man of Many’s global profile and positioning our brand in a competitive sphere once reserved for legacy print magazines.
A Master of His Word and Our Voice
A natural leader, Nick has always been an amazing journalist. It was no surprise to us that he enjoyed industry-wide recognition during his run. In 2021, he was named ‘Best of the Best – Journalist’ at the B&T Awards, a significant honour that was soon eclipsed by his win of the coveted ‘Editor of the Year’ title at the 2022 Mumbrella Publish Awards. These respective accolades only validated what we already knew: that our publication was being guided by one of the sharpest editorial minds in the country.
His prowess as a writer was most evident in his capacity as an interviewer. He possessed a rare ability not only to secure conversations with some of the world’s most sought-after figures but also to elicit from them a candour and depth that resulted in truly compelling content. His portfolio of exclusive interviews reads like a who’s who of global culture and entertainment, featuring names like Matthew McConaughey, Eric Bana, Jacob Elordi, and Patrick Dempsey. These high-profile features were critical assets that directly fueled our business, attracting partnerships with luxury brands such as R.M. Williams, TAG Heuer, and The Balvenie, which sought to align themselves with this A-list talent and world-class content.
During his time at Man of Many, Nick published more than 1,400 articles, a remarkable output that demonstrates his dedication to the task. His personal brand of visual storytelling helped to shape and refine the authoritative yet approachable tone that has become the hallmark of Man of Many. He was not just a content manager; he was the primary craftsman of our voice.
A True Man of Many
Beyond his writing, Nick embodied the Man of Many brand ethos in many ways. Nick is an award-winning journalist with a Bachelor of Creative Industries, double-majoring in Journalism and Music. He’s also an avid 35mm film photographer and a certified barber, having spent years as a senior stylist.
This combination of talents strengthened his leadership in a world where authenticity is the most valuable currency. Nick’s genuine participation in the culture we cover gave his work a natural credibility. This set a strong standard for the editorial team, fostering a culture of genuine passion and deep knowledge. For our readers, knowing the Editor-in-Chief was a true ‘Man of Many’ helped build trust in our content. Nick also played a key role in steering our mission “to empower people to make positive investments in themselves and their communities”. He was a driving force behind the Man of Many Mental Health Hub, helping thousands of readers with information on how to navigate mental health challenges and improve their well-being. When asked what it means to be a journalist, Nick’s answer was simple: “Great journalism comes from the ability to listen.” This belief guided his leadership and reflects the collaborative, empathetic and respectful approach that empowered his team, nurtured creativity and fostered a positive culture.
A Legacy That Will Live On
Nick leaves Man of Many in a position of incredible strength, and his legacy isn’t just in the metrics; it’s in the world-class standard he set. His place in our history is permanent, which is why we’re officially inducting him into the Man of Many ‘Hall of Fame.’
It’s hard to find the right words to say goodbye, especially to someone who has been so integral to our story. On behalf of the two of us, thank you. We’re grateful for having worked alongside you. We also wish you nothing but the absolute best in your next chapter, and close this one with gratitude for the lasting impression you’ve made on the team.
Frank Arthur & Scott Purcell,
Co-Founders of Man of Many
